Behind the Art: In 2019, I was in a car accident that had me casted up from the ankle to the waist on my right side. The car I just bought was totaled and I was a commuter at Widener preparing to transfer to Temple. Though I had the option to withdraw, I was determined to finish out the semester on crutches. I had a lot of support which humbled me, but I felt frustrated & lonely from not having the independence I was used to. Ultimately, I was able to transfer and work towards a new car in time to transfer to Temple.
