I Aspire To Be Google-able
- Marcien D.
Art is evidence of being able to execute your thoughts in a distinctive way. Since I was four, art has been my language. I was an introverted kid but I was also bold, loud, and fluent in creativity. I excelled in Art and English classes because of my ability reel people in through visual or verbal composition.
After recognizing my skillset, I went to college searching for the major that had the perfect fit. I tried fine arts, architecture, and then I landed on advertising. My observant nature, as well as my interest in psychology, (thank my psychologist-mother) intertwined with my creative hand so the major fit like a glove. As I was discovering my track, Intro to Copy opened up a new lane of “art” for me. The way words are arranged can mesmerize people and invite them in for a ride that they didn’t plan on taking. I fell more in love as I saw how the arrangement of words can sneak up on people and turn into a purchase. It was a new art form that I was extremely good at so I pursued it. After two years at Widener University in Chester, two years at Temple, a baby, a year break, then one final year at Temple, I finally graduated with my BA in Advertising. Everything I persevered through sculpted me and I strive to continue leaving my mark on the world so when you think of art, think of me.
